"I Do Believe! ...I Do!...I Do!
We're home again, Toto.
At a time in our nation's history when the divisive spite has far exceeded the commonly expected, and sadly accepted, political rhetoric of national, and more specifically presidential, politics we are startled by an election day process that has concluded with unanticipated reason and rationality.
Briefly gone astray, what is now indelibly embossed on our collective psyche is a benign erasure of at least some of this enmity by the election day experience we embraced, meeting as citizens and neighbors at the ballot box. Notwithstanding our differences over issues, our points of view realigned and congealed on our duty and responsibility to cast our declarative votes; the embodiment of a free and proud peoples.
What greater achievement of any human coalition than for the individuals within that society to set aside their divisiveness and welcome one another's diversities with openness and appreciation in a shared occasion. Let us commemorate this rare and special defining moment in our human history. A collective celebration created and rooted in constitution.
So it is that we were reminded of a place, a special place of good fortune and greatness, and strength in a mutual and singular cause; the cause of freedom. Where we value and protect our freedom of speech, and of choice; and its peaceful demonstration. The birthplace, and the home of the hope for all the world...the land that we call home.
Yes, Toto. We have returned. And there truly is no place like home!
